Dynasign Terminology

Dynasign Player: Dynasign Player is a client software that can be installed on a Windows XP-based PC to receive content from Dynasign Server and also power a display panel such as LCD, plasma or projection.

Dynasign Remote Control Console: Dynasign remote control console (including SitePublihser) is part of the Dynasign Server hosting service for businesses to use Dynasign without the need to administrate their own server.

Dynasign Display: Dynasign display is a physical display panel that can be controlled and updated remotely. It can be LCD, plasma or projection.

Player Key: Each player system requires a Dynasign Player software license. Each licensed player key works only on one player system.

Site Group: A site group defines a Dynasign network with multiple displays. Each site group includes a number of sites where content are programmed.

Site: A site is a content channel where Dynasign content is programmed and scheduled. One site can be mapped to one or many physical Dynasign Displays. Hierarchical relationships between sites can be defined to simulate organization structure.

Site Layout: Site layout defines how a display screen will be partitioned to have one or more sections and the position of those sections; each section includes a show.

Show: A show is composed of a list of slots filled with rich media content. A show will have at least one slot.

Slot(SLice Of Time): A slot is a slice of time in a show. Each slot is filled with content (Image, video, etc.).  Each slot is also assigned a duration for its playing time. A slot with a undefined duration will play indefinitely. Each slot can be programmed with rich-media content including text, image, animation and video. Each slot can be scheduled independent of other slots.

Content Type (or Media Type): Dynasign supports many popular content types including Text, Images (.jpg, .gif, .png), Flash (.swf), Windows Media(.wmv, .avi, .mpeg, etc.), URLs, TV and DVD.

Content: content of various types programmed to fill a slot in a Dynasign show. Content entered into Dynasign can be set to one of the workflow stages including draft, pending, and approved. Only approved content will be published live to a Dynasign Display.

Dynasign Template: a reusable content captured form that you can program content for a slot in a Dynasign show. Dynasign template allows user to dynamically produce rich-media content to fill a slot based on a simple and structured content captured form. Dynasign template technology can reduce the production time of rich-media ads from hours or days to minutes to allow real-time campaign. New templates can be customized and added to Dynasign.
